Along with the new missionaries we received, we also had to say good bye to some other awesome missionaries who have finished their missions. We wish them well in life.
They are (From Left to Right): Elder Chola, Elder Mukisa, Elder Molthaping, Sister Mulunda, Elder Cahill, and Elder Kampelya. Four new missionaries have joined us in the great Zambia Lusaka Mission. They are (from left to right) Elder Ntsekwa from South Africa, Elder Mpofu from Zimbabwe, Elder Bobowski from Utah, USA, and Elder Griffin from Utah, USA. We are excited for these elders to join us and begin the experience of a lifetime!
Our latest round of zone conferences! Much was learnt and the Spirit was strong. Topics consisted of : becoming full-purpose missionaries, Sabbath-Day observance and Self-Reliance. Much appreciation to all those who helped plan and prepare. Looking forward to the next set!
Well, August has come and gone and with the passing of the month we had our final Zone Conferences in Malawi. Both Blantyre and Lilongwe Zones are looking strong as ever and both conferences were excellent for all who were involved.
So far we are finished with the Zone Conferences in Zambia. We had a great time with the Lusaka East and West Zones and up in the Copperbelt with the newly split Copperbelt and Kitwe Zones. We have been learning a lot of things but one of the main themes running throughout the conferences so far is that the Lord is hastening His work and we need to keep up!
"If we always do what we've always done, we'll always get what we've always gotten" Elder Bednar (2014 Seminar for new Mission Presidents) Between 4th and 6th of August we received 13 missionaries (4 from the MTC and 9 from other missions) and lost one (Sister Mbonyana who is now headed to the Uganda Kampala mission after getting her visa). The new missionaries are:
With these new missionaries transfers have come again. The updated transfer sheet can be seen here. We now have 103 missionaries which has required us to split Copperbelt Zone, creating the new Kitwe Zone. Well, even before we could publish this transfer transfers have come again. This time we are losing 7 missionaries. We say farewell to Elder Majafe, Elder Shoba, Sister Wallin, Sister Getts, Sister Twangeirwe, Sister Clifford and Sister Nakitende. They have been a great benefit to the mission and we have enjoyed working with them. We wish them well in as their lives continue back home. So with more missionaries heading home, transfers have come again. The transfers have affected over 30 missionaries throughout the mission and the new transfer sheet can be seen here. "...The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest that he will send forth labourers into his harvest."Matt 9:37-38. The Lord is answering our prayers and has sent us four new missionaries putting us to a total of 90.
